Duquesne University—Daniel Lieberfeld shows how bashing Israel and convincing Jews to hate her is really a family affair as Carnegie-Mellon U. helps

Anti-Israel activist uses son, Jesse, to distort Martin Luther King’s messages supporting Israel in English comp contest at CMU

Daniel Lieberfeld is a Professor of Conflict Studies at Dusquesne University. Dr. Lieberfeld is also active in the campus anti-Israel movement on US campuses. Recently, Dr.Lieberfeld showed how one can make anti-Israel advocacy a family affair as he hid in the background while his son, a high school student, promoted division between American Jews and Israel. This all centered around the late Martin Luther King.
While he was still living, Martin Luther King, spoke the truth about the anti-Israel movement among the Left. He stated after the Six Day War in 1967, “”Israel’s right to exist as a state in security is incontestable.”
Only ten days before he died, King also called Israel “one of the great outposts of democracy in the world,” and he went on to say that “we must stand with all our might to protect [Israel's] right to exist, its territorial integrity.”

King also frequently denounced anti-Semitism. According to him, “the segregationists and racists make no fine distinction between the Negro and the Jew.” In a letter to Jewish leaders, he attacked anti-Semitism “within the Negro community, because it was wrong. I will continue to oppose it, because it is immoral and self-destructive.”
Yet a writing competition organized by Carnegie Mellon’s Dietrich Center has found a tie for first place winner in a high school writing contest for an article written by an 11th grade Jewish high school student who implies his religion’s attachment to Jewish existence and Israel is based on racism and contradictory to the teachings of Dr. King.
The student, Jesse Lieberfeld, an 11th grader at Winchester Thurston High School wrote of his emotional tribulations and questioning his Judaism as he sat in synagogue with his family, conjuring up a tale of dispassionate Jews and questioning the validity of his Jewish faith; bored by a musical interlude during the service, he wrote about his Judaism: “, I had always accepted this solo as just another part of the program, yet now it seemed to capture the whole essence of our religion: intelligent and well-crafted on paper, yet completely oblivious to the outside world.”
He continued about his supposed epiphany about Judaism, “When I was finally given the chance to ask a question, I asked, “I want to support Israel. But how can I when it lets its army commit so many killings?” I was met with a few angry glares from some of the older men, but the rabbi answered me. “It is a terrible thing, isn’t it?” he said. “But there’s nothing we can do. It’s just a fact of life.” I knew, of course, that the war was no simple matter and that we did not by any means commit murder for its own sake, but to portray our thousands of killings as a “fact of life” was simply too much for me to accept. I thanked him and walked out shortly afterward. I never went back. I thought about what I could do. If nothing else, I could at least try to free myself from the burden of being saddled with a belief I could not hold with a clear conscience. I could not live the rest of my life as one of the pathetic moderates whom King had rightfully portrayed as the worst part of the problem. I did not intend to go on being one of the Self-Chosen People, identifying myself as part of a group to which I did not belong. “
So in one fell swoop, young Lieberfeld at the ripe old age of seventeen condemned Judaism, describes the concept of the Chosen People as not to set an righteous example for mankind (which is its meaning), redefining it as the Self-Chosen People (meaning self-absorbed and superior to others) and then accuses Israel’s army of “so many killings” while not even acknowledging the 8,000 missiles fired on Israelis on a regular basis from Gaza nor the Palestinian insistence that Israel has no right to exist at all. He furthermore suggested he preserved the ideals of Martin Luther King regarding the Jewish people and the Jewish state.
Young Lieberfeld conflated prejudice against Black America in the 1950’s with the Palestinian anti-Semitism of Hamas that seeks in its charter to wipe Jews from the face of the Earth: “Wasn’t it the same excuse our own country had used to justify its abuses of African-Americans sixty years ago?”, he wrote,“In that moment, I realized how similar the two struggles were—like the white radicals of that era, we controlled the lives of another people whom we abused daily, and no one could speak out against us. It was too politically incorrect to do so. We had suffered too much, endured too many hardships, and overcome too many losses to be criticized. I realized then that I was in no way part of a ‘conflict’—the term ‘Israeli/Palestinian Conflict’ was no more accurate than calling the Civil Rights Movement the ‘Caucasian/ African-American Conflict.’ In both cases, the expression was a blatant euphemism: it gave the impression that this was a dispute among equals and that both held an equal share of the blame. However, in both, there was clearly an oppressor and an oppressed, and I felt horrified at the realization that I was by nature on the side of the oppressors. I was grouped with the racial supremacists. I was part of a group that killed while praising its own intelligence and reason. I was part of a delusion.”
Those self-absorbed Jews who convinced this sensitive adolescent to “never go back” to synagogue obviously sounded convincing to academic judges of his article who never read how Israel released over 1,000 terrorists, many with blood on their hands for one Jewish soldier hostage? Nor have “thousands” been killed among the Palestinians, whereas lesser numbers of armed Hamas terrorists have been killed in a war the Arabs insist will never end without the annihilation of the Jews.
Are we to believe the judges were so ignorant? Whereas the letter implies the young man engaged in soul searching, it is pure anti-Israel propaganda and was immediately distributed by Mazen Qumsiyeh of the ISM, a known anti-Semite who was fired by Yale University for using the University email system to send out anti-Semitic emails . Qumsiyeh, a founder of Al Awda that calls for the annihilation of Israel and boycotts abroad is now in the West Bank where he is loosely affiliated with the PFLP.
Aside from the blatant contradiction of Dr. King’s opinion that American blacks should support Israel and that anti-Zionism was a disguised form of anti-Semitism (per Dr. King’s wife), the Carnegie Mellon judges sought to award this young man’s ignorance a tie for first place.
Or is there more to this than it seems?
The award winning article is, in fact , a first-rate example of the propaganda rhetoric used by the International Solidarity Movement . The news of the award has been making its way around ISM propaganda lists. Was this boy recruited by the ISM to lend his name to the letter? Did he in fact, write it? The fact that the letter not only seeks to criticize Israel, but Judaism itself as an homage to Dr. King , is a puzzler.
And the judges at Carnegie Mellon who chose it as a tie for first place? An investigation shows that Professor Jim Daniels in the English department headed the competition of judges on an article about Martin Luther King. He decided that “race” was to be the central theme. Jews and Palestinians are not separate races, but apparently Daniels, a poet, thinks they are. That such an article might spew forth from the pen of an immature adolescent with no knowledge or history on Martin Luther King might be possible. But knowledgeable and mature academics who are judges would not award such a document a first place prize were it not their goal of conveying a political (and anti-Semitic) message at the same time. Just who were these other judges in the English department I asked the President’s Office? Carnegie-Mellon isn’t telling.
But then we also learn that the winner’s, that is, Jesse’s daddy, one Daniel Lieberfeld is a professor at Duquesne University who is an anti-Israel activist and writes often trying to convince American Jews not to support a Jewish state by making inaccurate comparisons with Israel and the former apartheid South Africa. Daniel Lieberfeld may not have written the article for his son, but he likely told him what distortions to say and use to be picked up by fellow traveler anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic blogs like Mondoweiss with the headline “ Today in Pittsburgh, Jesse Lieberfeld, 17, will deliver a hammer blow to American Jewish support for Israel”
Daniel Lieberfeld showed that bashing Israel can be a family affair if you know how to manipulate the Media with lies, especially trying to compare persecution of black people to Israel’s self-defense from the Arab world. Lieberfeld has even signed a petition asking for international protection for the Palestinians as they were busy blowing up Israeli civilians almost daily on buses during the height of the Intifada. It said, “We feel it is our duty to support the call for the immediate provision of an international force to protect the Palestinian people in its struggle for the exercise of its right to self-determination and freedom, and to put an end to the military occupation of its land.” The Petition was signed by a Who’s Who List of anti-Israel and anti-Zionist ex-pat Israeli academics who routinely promote the Palestinian :Revolution” against Israel; that is, Jews who pose as Jews who are against a Jewish national homeland in favor of the Arabs taking over.
That Carnegie-Mellon could be so ignorant as to play right into the anti-Israel propaganda crowd doesn’t say much for its English faculty or college President who also sponsored the competition in honor of Dr. King.

21 January 2012: Last week at the Republican National Committee at its winter meeting meeting in New Orleans, LA adopted a resolution that calls for a one state solution to the never ending crisis in the Middle East. The resolution resolves for a single state under one law in the territory of Israel, Judea and Samaria with Israeli citizenship rights extended to all. This resolution all but acknowledges the results of Asaph’s Psalm 83 prophetic prayer.

The resolution (part of the Republican National Platform for the 2012 Presidential Election) has a preamble which describes Eretz (the Land) of Israel as God-given to the Jews and resolves “that the members of this body support Israel in their natural and God-given right of self-governance and self-defense upon their own lands, recognizing that Israel is neither an attacking force nor an occupier of the lands of others; and that peace can be afforded the region only through a united Israel governed under one law for all people.”

This is a tremendous departure from the anti-Genesis 12:3 Republican 2008 platform which stated: “We support the vision of two democratic states living in peace and security: Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital, and Palestine.”

Those who say there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats have another thing coming.

AN RNC RESOLUTION TO COMMEND THE NATION OF ISRAEL FOR ITS RELATIONS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

WHEREAS, Israel has been granted her lands under and through the oldest recorded deed as reported in the Old Testament, a tome of scripture held sacred and reverenced by Jew and Christian, alike, as the acts and words of God; and

WHEREAS, as the Grantor of said lands, God stated to the Jewish people in the Old Testament; in Leviticus, Chapter 20, Verse 24: “Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey”; and

WHEREAS, God has never rescinded his grant of said lands; and

WHEREAS, along with the grant of said lands to the Jewish people, God provided for the non-Jewish residents of the land in commanding that governance must be in one law for all without drawing distinction between Jewish and non-Jewish citizens, as contained in Leviticus 24:22, and

WHEREAS, the Nation of Israel declared its independent control and governance of said lands on May 14, 1948, with the goal of re-establishing their God-given lands as a homeland for the Jewish people; and

WHEREAS, the United States of America, having been the first country to recognize Israel as an independent nation and as Israel’s principal Mideast ally, has enjoyed a close and mutually beneficial relationship with Israel and her people; and

WHEREAS, indeed, Israel is the United States of America’s greatest friend in the Mideast; and

WHEREAS, the roots of Israel and the roots of the United States of America are so intertwined that it is difficult to separate one from the other under the word and protection of almighty God; and

WHEREAS, there are those in the Middle East who have sought to destroy Israel from its inception as anation; and

WHEREAS, those same enemies of Israel also seek to destroy the United States of America; and

WHEREAS, the United States of America and the nation of Israel have enjoyed cordial and mutually beneficial relations since 1948, a friendship that should continues to strengthen with each passing year.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Republican Nation Committee that the committee by this resolution commends the nation of Israel for its relations with the United States of America.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the members of this body support Israel in their natural and God-given right of self-governance and self-defense upon their own lands, recognizing that Israel is neither an attacking force nor an occupier of the lands of others; and that peace can be afforded the region only through a united Israel governed under one law for all people.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Senate Leadership and each of the legislatures of the states within the United States of America with the request and recommendation of this body that a similar resolution to that stated herein be proposed within their respective bodies.

When Barack Hussein Obama stated that his work is far from over, he meant it. He is not the meandering dolt as portrayed by some right-wing media pundits, but a dangerous Marxist dictator with powerful handlers at the helm who create the agenda for him to implement. A big part of that agenda includes providing permanent amnesty for individuals living in the U.S. illegally, resulting in the “Balkanization of America.”

There are many on both sides of the political divide who assert that reinforcing our borders and actually implementing our immigration laws is impossible and impractical. Some deliberately confuse legal immigration with lawless illegal immigration, while the government purposely skews facts and figures about illegal immigration to push for blanket amnesty.

Well buckle up, legal Americans, because you are about to witness the acceleration of the amnesty program via executive fiat. An end-around congress and the U.S. Constitution is about to take place through a little known arm of the executive branch of government known as the U.S. Domestic Policy Council.

Introducing the U.S. Domestic Policy Council

Most Americans don’t know anything about the U.S. Domestic Policy Council. The change of leadership that has just taken place within that agency, however, and the consequential changes that are in the offing will most certainly change that.

Created by executive order in 1993 during the Clinton administration, the U.S. Domestic Policy Council is tasked with oversight of the development and implementation of the President’s domestic policy agenda. The agency also acts as a liaison between the heads of various other federal offices and agencies to assist in the implementation of the President’s domestic agenda. Although it’s unofficial history can be traced back into the 1960′s, the council has played a more active role in domestic affairs since its formal creation. It has gained even more influence and prominence under Obama.

The Council’s leadership

On November 24 2008, Obama named attorney Melody Barnes, the top domestic policy advisor for Obama’s 2008 campaign and prior Executive Vice President for Policy at the Center for American Progress, a 501(c)3 organization founded by John Podesta, to chair the U.S. Domestic Policy Council. Last October, Barnes announced that she was leaving her position as director to spend more time with her family. During her brief tenure as council chair, Barnes cites the many accomplishments under her tenure. It was Barnes, under the guiding hand of Obama, who addressed issues and implemented a wide range of “policies” from those relating to health care to education, and from nutrition to immigration.

Barnes resigned at the beginning of the year so she could spend more time with her family, according to official statements. Taking her place is Cecilia Munoz, an activist for immigration policy change.

Who is Cecelia Munoz?

Cecilia Munoz, 49, served as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the White House since early 2009 before being tapped by Obama to take over the U.S. Domestic Policy Council. She also worked for the National Council of La Raza, a group that aggressively lobbies for amnesty for illegal aliens and mass immigration.

Few would be surprised to learn that Munoz is also tied at the hip with George Soros, in her boardroom position with the Center for Community Change, a Soros-funded community organizing group with direct ties to MoveOn.org and ACORN among other similar organizations. She has also served on the board of George Soros’ Open Society Institute.

Her new position will involve “coordinating the policy-making process and supervising the execution of domestic policy” in the White House, and her prior positions and contacts will most certainly continue to flow into the West Wing.

It is important to remember that it is the Center for Community Change, the organization where Munoz working through 2008, openly uses as its training programs made infamous by socialist radical Saul Alinsky. One can ultimately follow the ties between the Center for Community Change to the Woods Fund, a Chicago based nonprofit group on which Obama directed along with Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers.

Endgame

Trained in Alinsky tactics, the endgame should be clear with this new West Wing appointment. Obama is shrewdly playing for keeps, and left unchecked, we will bear witness to one of the most overreaching mass amnesty programs ever seen under the unassuming name of the U.S. Domestic Policy Council.

The biggest threat to America, my friends, is that coming from within.

As the attention of most Americans was captivated by the shiny object in Times Square this weekend like infants fixated on car keys dangled in front of them, Barack Hussein Obama signed into law  H.R. 1540, better known as the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Regardless of any concurrent executive signing statements that are mere window dressing and not legally binding, Obama and every member of congress who crafted and voted for this act has essentially declared war on American citizens on U.S. soil.

To quote Rush Limbaugh, “words mean things.” As a career investigator, I can assure you that words contained in local, state and federal laws most certainly mean things, and provide the legal authority for conduct sanctioned by national or state authorities without regard to any promised judicial or prosecutorial discretion that could be likened to the signing statement. The NDAA now codifies the most controversial aspects of the Patriot Act, which “candidate” Obama publicly opposed. What changed?

Greasing the slope

Any person of reasonable sensibilities should be raising a multitude of questions upon considering the current and historical conduct of the executive and legislative branches of our government. It was the attack on 9/11 that ostensibly paved the way for the Bush administration to craft the USA PATRIOT Act, which was signed into law by congress on October 26, 2001. That legislation broadened law enforcement powers well beyond the rights granted to Americans by the U.S. Constitution. While many of the provisions contained in the PATRIOT Act were scheduled to end on December 31, 2005, the U.S. Senate passed a reauthorization bill containing numerous changes in July 2005, and the House of Representatives submitted a bill that kept most of the original bill intact. The largely unchanged bill passed congressional vote on March 2, 2006 and was signed into law by George W. Bush.

Although the PATRIOT Act has gone through various subsequent incarnations, congress crafted and Obama signed a four-year extension last May, extending certain key provisions that particularly focused on businesses in the U.S.  It is important to note that the manner and methods in which the U.S. government interprets and carries out the provisions of the PATRIOT Act are classified and kept secret from the American public, an issue rarely addressed by politicians or pundits. Why the secrecy?

Continuity of agenda

One must also question the obvious continuity of agenda from the Bush administration to the Obama administration, and from the congress seated in 2001 through today. Despite pro-Constitutional campaign rhetoric from both Republicans and Democrats, and the rapid acquiescence of some TEA party candidates who now occupy seats of power, it is obvious that the rights of Americans granted by the very Constitution elected officials swore to uphold are under attack. Why the change?

As one looks at the larger picture, pieces of the puzzle seems to become more recognizable.

The move toward globalism

Once thought to be the fanciful designs of the conspiracy minded, there appears to be an acceleration toward one world governance, or the infamous “New World Order.” It is an agenda that has been in place for decades, yet the politically myopic and the agent facilitators deliberately avoid any discussion of its existence. Exposure of this agenda has been hobbled by the merger of major news organizations into a half-dozen corporations who control what is reported. Even many who present themselves as purveyors of the truth decline to discuss the globalist agenda, or are held hostage by big money contracts with editorial stipulations and controls.

While the attacks of 9/11 paved the way for passage of the PATRIOT Act, what could explain the draconian legislation contained in the NDAA of 2012? Looking through the prism of current events, those with intellectual honesty can readily see events unfolding that would create conditions to necessitate its implementation.

Controlled economic collapse

Who could have predicted the economic crisis of 2008, just two months before the U.S. presidential election? Nearly everyone who was aware of the agenda of the global elite. The economic crisis of 2008, an incident which the banking elite used the specter of martial law to fund their global operations, landed a financial sucker punch on every American with the approval of congress. Using such phrases as “too big to fail,” banking giants, facilitated by the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury and members of congress knowingly and deliberately defrauded the American public out of trillions of dollars, much of which remains unaccounted for despite dubious internal financial audit reports.

While the corporate media remain lapdogs for the banking and global elite and report recovery on the horizon, the real story has yet to be told by our media and elected officials. There is a controlled demolition of not only our national economy, but the entire world economy.  Look at the financial death throes of the European Union, which cannot survive, despite the best fiction from cable news economists to hired to hide the truth from the masses. The consequential social upheaval will not be contained to Europe, nor will the economic apocalypse. Due to the Ponzi scheme created by the globalist bankers and government leaders from the Goldman-Sachs bloodline, Americans will find themselves in financial turmoil unseen in modern history.

Perhaps it is for those who cannot seem to take their eyes of the shiny objects, or those who camp out at big box stores for bargains on the latest and greatest electronic gadgets that the NDAA was crafted.

Beyond the commitment of time, we have built a special studio and purchased various audio and video equipment. We have also hired a part-time field researcher in Washington, DC in an effort to be on the tip of the information spear. We’ve reached deep into our pockets in order to provide you, the viewer and listener, what we feel will be one of the most valuable informational services available today. But we’ve made the decision to do this because we believe the time is late, and the very survival of our nation and even our souls are at stake. It is our sincere hope that you watch and listen to our program, and if you like what you hear and see, you will tell others about our program and the Liberty Broadcasting Network.

Additionally, I am humbly asking for your help. In these times when most of us can barely make ends meet, it’s difficult to ask for your assistance. In order to deliver a quality product, we must meet our monthly budget. We do not receive payment for doing our show. It is listener and advertiser supported.
